Point of Sale (POS) equipment are terminals used to process the
transactions during a sale. CoCard® can process virtually any
terminal in the market today. Two basic ways to process a
transaction are:
Terminals
Terminals are utilized to accept and process credit cards, debit
cards, gift cards, and checks. There are a wide variety of
terminals with innumerable functions, varying on speed, memory
capacity, connection types, etc. Some of the most known and
reliable brands in the market today are Hypercom, Verifone, and
Lipman.
Systems
POS System is a software that can be installed in a computer to
operate as a terminal. These systems combined with other
peripherals, such as a card reader, can be used to run
transactions in addition to keep track of inventory and much
more.
